Who is responsible
Cloudyorchardbanter Editorial Ltd is responsible for personal information it receives through editorial correspondence and operation of this website. Our registered office is 42 York Street, Manchester M1 4HN, United Kingdom; company no. 14692853. Contact [email protected] with “Privacy” in the subject for questions or requests.
The local letter tool
The contact tool processes the name, email address, subject and message you enter in your browser’s current page. Its code does not submit those fields to us or save them in localStorage. Reviewing the letter only displays text on the page. Copying places that text on your system clipboard; downloading creates a text file on your device.
Your browser or operating system may retain form entries, clipboard history or downloads under its own settings. If you choose to send the letter using an email application, that transmission is handled by your email provider and ours. Do not include sensitive personal data, confidential drawings or information about others without a proper reason and permission where required.
Information we receive
If you email us, we receive your address, message, any name you provide and any attachments you choose to send. We use this information to consider your enquiry, respond, assess corrections and maintain an appropriate correspondence record. We do not automatically publish letters or add correspondents to a mailing list.
Delivering a website necessarily involves technical information such as an IP address, requested resource, timestamp and browser information. Hosting and email service providers may process such data to deliver services, protect systems and investigate faults. This site’s own scripts do not add analytics, advertising trackers or fingerprinting.
Purpose and legal basis
Where UK data-protection law applies, ordinary correspondence and service-security processing generally rely on our legitimate interests in operating an editorial journal, answering enquiries and protecting its systems, balanced against individuals’ rights. Where processing is necessary to meet a legal obligation, that obligation provides the relevant basis. If a separate optional use requires consent, we will explain it and request consent before that use.
Storage, recipients and retention
Correspondence may be handled by people responsible for the journal and providers supporting email, hosting or security. We do not sell personal information. Information may be disclosed where legally required or necessary to establish or defend legal rights. Where international transfers occur, applicable legal safeguards must be used.
We retain information only for as long as reasonably needed for the enquiry, an ongoing editorial matter, security or applicable legal obligations. The appropriate period depends on the content and purpose. We review records and delete or anonymize information when it is no longer needed. Please ask if you need details about a particular correspondence record.
Browser storage and external links
The browser-choice controls on the Cookies page can save one preference in localStorage. They do not enable analytics. Navigation state, scroll reveals and letter preparation do not need persistent storage. External links take you to services with their own privacy practices; we do not control those services.
Your rights
Depending on the applicable law and circumstances, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw consent for processing that relies on consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. These rights are subject to legal conditions and exceptions.
Contact us using the address above. We may need proportionate information to confirm your identity. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office or your relevant local supervisory authority.
Changes
This notice describes the journal’s current static-site features. Material changes to how information is handled should be reflected here before the new processing begins. Check this page when returning with a new enquiry.
